Your First Visit to Vein & Laser of Fredericksburg

Upon your first visit to our facilities, information is gathered concerning your general medical history as well as details relevant to the type of treatment you will be receiving.
Vein Disease
- A general examination with focus on the lower extremities is made.
- A screening doppler exam is performed to evaluate for axial vein disease.
- If the physical exam or screening doppler exam are suspicious for more extensive venous disease, an ultrasound exam will be scheduled to define and map the underlying venous system.
- A treatment plan will be discussed once venous disease has been accurately diagnosed.
Pamphlets concerning venous disease are available to take home.

Cosmetic Procedures
Your first visit with us is a discovery visit. We first talk with you and determine your cosmetic concerns. This is followed by a short medical history. The focus is then on the physical exam. This is where Dr. Palmer will analyze your skin type and assess for different types of skin damage. Specific attention will be directed at the area you are most interested in improving. Following the exam, Dr. Palmer will go over the various types of treatment options available and tailor a treatment plan specific to you and your particular needs.
If you have previously received Botox® or Restylane® (at any facility) and simply want a focused history and same day treatment, this can be arranged. Please be quite specific when making your appointment so treatment can be made available that day.
Patients for laser lipolysis consultations should be prepared for a complete history and physical and should bring underwear appropriate for examination of the body area they want treated. Following the consultation, information about the procedure will be given in detail. A video is available for viewing that will help give you an idea as to what to expect during treatment. A price quote will be given that is tailored to your needs. If financing is of interest, this will be arranged at that time. We use CapitolOne Healthcare Finance which offers 0% interest for those that qualify.
